John Edwards infidelity Coverage May Win a Pulitzer
After its relentless reporting blew the lid off the John Edwards-Rielle Hunter cheating scandal, the National Enquirer is in the running for a Pulitzer Prize. The Enquirer’s coverage of Edwards' double life is being considered for investigative reporting and national news reporting awards.
The story of his affair and love child with Rielle Hunter was initially ignored until finally accepted by mainstream media. The significance of the story was the fact that John Edwards came quite close to been nominated as Presidential Candidate for Democratic Party.
The mainstream media was initially hesitant to run the story but The Enquirer's relentless pursuit brought the story in to limelight.
Kris Jenner advises Scott Disick
The day after Keeping Up with the Kardashians set an E! ratings record with 4.8 million viewers, Kris Jenner spoke to the network that made her family super famous and focused on the unit's most useless character: Scott Disick.
The mother of Khloe and Kim Kardashian has made her views on Kourtney's baby daddy quite clear, often mocking his status as an "entrepreneur" and urging Scott to find something he's "passionate about." She said, "I want someone who's dedicated to Kourtney and the baby, who has something to get up for every day - not just get up and go get a tan in the backyard," Kris told E! News."It's not just success monetarily. It's finding something you love to do. I'm as hard on Rob as I am on Scott. I set the bar really high and expect a lot out of my kids."
The show finished filming over nine months ago and Jenner says "a lot's happened since." This would include the raising of Mason Dash, Scott and Kourtney's adorable son.
Kris adds that "when you date one of my kids, you date all of us" and she means that literally: no way you're courting anyone in that family without signing an E! contract.
Mom wants Justin to wed Jessica
Justin Timberlake's mother wants him to marry Jessica Biel. Lynn harless desperate to be a grandmother says that Jessica is 'one of us' and hopes to see the duo starta family soon. She said "Jessica's down-to-earth and her family is great. I've had friends who have grandchildren and I've tried to express to Justin that I'm losing race". When asked if she believes if Jessica is 'the one' for her son. She refused to answer and said, "You should ask him." Lynn admires Jessica's accomplishments. She said, "Jessica was at home around Christmas. There was this crazy noise coming from the gym. To get ready for climbing Mount Kilimanjaro, she had the treadmill to the highest level and was running with a 40lb backpack. I want to be like her"
Haute for Haiti
Supermodels Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell and Nicole Roberts walked on ramp for "Fashion For Relief" to raise money for the survivors of the Haitian earthquake. Naomi and Kate wore designs from Alexander Mc Queens' last Spring/Summer 2010 collection as a tribute to the departed designer. The event was organised by Naomi.
Naomi said "I am deeply saddened by the recent tragedy in Haiti. So many have been killed and severaly affected by the earthquake - women and children in particular are most vulnerable in disasters. Fashion is universal, personal and touches everone"
Other celebrities who walked the ramp included Girls Aloud singer Kimberly Walsh, Welsh diva Dame Shirley Bassey, former Spice Girl geri Halliwell and Socialite Pixie Geldof.
Jolie won’t get Haiti Kid for her Human Zoo
Hollywood Actress Angelina Jolie won't be adding a Haiti orphan to her collection of diverse kids but admits discussing expanding family further with her partner Brad Pitt.
The actress who is currently on tour to devastated Haiti in her role as a UN Goodwill Ambassador, scoffed rumours that she intends to adopt an orphan from the earthquake nation.
Angelina and Brad are already parents to three adopted and three biological children. "I'm always open to adopting children from around the world. We're that kind of a family. Brad and I talk about that. But that's not what we're focussing on at this time, by any means. We're not here for that. We're here to see how we can help protect the children in the country and scale up the needs here, " Jolie said.
She also added "New adoptions should definitely not be encouraged as an immediate response to the emergency. Haiti had many trafficking problems before the earthquake and now we must keepa very close watch on the children. I would encourage as much support as possible to groups like UNICEF that provide care for children in the country."
Kemp Denies Dating Rihanna
Singer Rihanna's alleged lover Matt Kemp has spoken up about their relationship insisting they are "just good friends". Rihanna has been linked to baseball star Matt Kemp and have been seen together many times.
Rihanna has also quashed the rumours and insisted, she is not dating anyone and is single. Matt Kemp also stated "I can't get distracted by that. When it's time to play baseball, that's my job. No distractions. Rihanna is just a friend, a good friend of mine"
Zeta Voted as Worst Dressed
Hollywood superstar Catherine Zeta-Jones has been voted the biggest fashion offender by animal rights NGO PETA in its annual worst dressed list. In a statement, PETA said "With her creepy cow-skin pants, ugly fox coat and icky alligator bag, Catherine Zeta-Jones looks like she's working her way through Noah's ark with a knife".
PETA is also planning to hold a protest outside the 40 year old acctress's broadway play, A Little Night Music. "Maybe she's trying to get into character for an upcoming role as a serial killer or a taxidermist," PETA further added.
Other hollywood A-listers included Singer Jennifer Lopez, whom PETA called - Jenny from the butcher block, who wears old-school corpse coats. Jessica Simpson was also criticised for for her wardrobe which "all resemble her career - dead".
PETA also got personal with kate Hudson and wondered if her fur-love drove ex-lover Alex Rodriguez away from her. "Kate, there's no easier way to lose a guy in 10 days than by wearing a hairball. Maybe your furs are the reason why A-ROD ran for home." the NGO said in a statement.
Renee dazzles at Berlin Film Festival
Snowy weather notwithstanding, Oscar winner Renee Zellweger, raised the tempearture at Berlin film festival. On the festivals' opening night she dazzled in a bold backless blue dress. The forty year old star was in a strapless gown with a long train as she posed on the red carpet for the photographers, at the premiere of Chinese film Tuan Yuan.
Zellweger is one of the 7 member jury, headed by German director Werner Herzog. They will decide on the awards at the end of 10 day festival on Feb 20. Other jury members include, Chinese actress Yu Nan, German actress Cornelia Froboess, Somalian writer Nuruddin, Italian director Francesca Comencini and Spanish producer Jose Maria Morales.
Perry Happy with her Voluptous Figure
Singer Kate Perry is happy with her voluptous figure. Recently she claimed that she doesn't need to work out because hectic schedule is enough to keep her in shape. She stated "I dont feel pressure,a s I know i'm kind of voluptuous and I've always been that way. Saying that, I'm young and metabolism is on my side and my schedule is so crazy that i lose weight from the intesity of it. But if you ask me that question in five or six years, I'll probably have a different answer for you," Perry said.
However, the 25 year old singing star, is continuously advised by her elder sister to have a healthy diet.
Katie Price marries cage-fighter boyfriend
British model and tabloid sensation Katie Price has married her cage-fighter boyfriend Alex Reid in Las Vegas. The couple says they married Tuesday "in a private, simple ceremony."
Price also known as Jordan started her career as a topless model in The Sun newspaper. Reality TV appearances, product endorsements and high-profile romances have made her one of the most famous women in Britain.
Price and Reid said in a statement Wednesday they were "very much in love." The statement said their decision to marry had not been made "with any preconceived commercial plan or media deal in place."
Price split from Australian pop singer Peter Andre last year and later began dating Reid. He has also gained TV fame, winning U.K. reality show "Celebrity Big Brother" last week.
