Russell Crowe gives up smoking for son

Australian actor Russell Crowe has kicked the butt after his young son caught him stubbing out a sneaky cigarette. The 46-year-old actor admits he spent years smoking more than two packs a day, but was always careful to hide his habit from his children, Charlie, six, and Tennyson, four.

his father in the act, Contactmusic reported. "Do the maths, I have been smoking for 36 years, I would continuously lie to myself about how much I smoked.

(I was) smoking 40 on an easy day, but on a day when I would be up at 4am and still up at midnight, then it was 60-plus and it just got to the point where my body was telling me I had to stop," Crowe said. The ''Gladiator'' star ultimately quit his nicotine addiction after Charlie caught him smoking a puff.

"The reality break was that my kids never saw me smoke and Charlie is a little older at six and is in that phase where he is sneaking up on me all the time. I was in my office.

and I thought I heard my office door open and I looked around and couldn''t see anything, so I had my cigarette," Crowe said. "Later on I leant over to put my cigarette out and he was lying between the couch and the table and he very definitely saw me having a smoke.

And that was my very last one," he added.

I''d never say never, but hopefully my life will maintain its current levels of fulfilment and joy, and I won''t need to turn to it," Roberts said. She also finds modelling to be "fun" now because she can let go more due to her growing age.

"The whole idea of modelling in my 40s, I think, is very modern and fun. There''s a kind of joy and sense of fun to doing it right now, a sense of being secure in who you are that I feel today in my 40s," Roberts said.

Cheryl faints in studio

Cheryl Tweedy has pulled out of The X factor show on medical advice after she collapsed during a photoshoot. The 27 year old singer fainted in a North London studio recently and a doctor was summoned immediately. The doctor diagnosed her with severe exhaustion and ordered complete rest. The Girls Aloud star had gone through with the shoot despite looking “washed out” on arrival. It is believed make-up staff had to take extra care to cover her pale skin. But as soon as she was under the lights in the North London studio she was clearly perspiring.

Test later showed that she was suffering from serious gastro bug.
