First look: Shrek Forever After
No doubt, Shrek franchise has bowled you over, now comes the fourth installment termed as The Final Chapter. Releasing on May 21, the movie got a new 3D version. But this time it’s all topsy-turvy as Shrek doesn’t know Fiona and doesn’t even have a donkey friend. So, how it’s going to be? Read here about the characters of Shrek 4.
SHREK, THE OGRE
THE GRASS AIN'T ANY GREENER ON THIS SIDE
In this fourth part, Shrek (Mike Mayers) is feeling over-domesticated. He has lost his roar. It used to send villagers running away in terror. Now they run to him and ask him to sign their pitchforks and torches. To regain his ogre mojo, he strikes a deal with Rumpelstiltskin. The pact goes awry and Shrek must confront what life would be like in Far Far Away if he had never existed. That translates into Donkey being forced into cart-pulling duty, fat and lazy Puss in Boots trading his sword for a pink bow and the underhanded Rumpelstiltskin ruling the kingdom.
PRINCESS FIONA
CAN'T STOP OGLING AT THIS OGRE?
Fiona played by Cameron Diaz is a hunting ogre who has never met (and can't stand) Shrek, and is the leader of a band of other hunted ogres. Artie (Justin Timberlake) has been forced to step down as ruler of Far Far Away. But if Shrek shares "True Love's Kiss" with Fiona by the sunrise of the next day, the true timeline will be restored -- and Artie will be restored as to his rightful position as the only true heir to Far Far Away, but if Shrek does not make it, then by the time the day is up, Shrek will disappear.
DONKEY
WAFFLE WARRIOR
Played by Eddie Murphy, Donkey in Shrek Forever After is an intellectual who has never met Shrek, is forced into cart-pulling duty and fears him. Quite a change from the buddy equation they shared in the three films before this one
PUSS IN BOOTS
LARD OF ALL HE SURVEYS
Antonio Banderas voices the once fleet-footed swashbuckling feline fatale. In this alternate reality, he packs quite the paunch.
